Rashida Jones
Rashida Jones was the younger daughter
of media mogul, producer, musician Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. Her
older sister is Kidada Jones, and five half-siblings from the various
relationships between her father and his other partners. Her father is
African-American , and her mother is Ashkenazi Jewish (a descendant of exiles
from Russia and Latvia). Rashida was raised in Reform Judaism. She was raised
in Bel Air, Los Angeles, California. Jones admitted that Jones' mixed race
parents did not suit her during the 1970s. Jones began her professional acting
debut in The Last Don in 1997 A mini-series that was inspired by Mario Puzo.
Also in 1997, Rashida graduated from Harvard University. Took a course at the
Buckley School, Sherman Oaks, California. Voted the Most Likely Sufferer.

previously been engaged to her. Niece of Robert Lipton. Her romantic
relationships include Josh Hartnett and Charlie Hunnam. Kidada Jones was her
sister's wedding ring bearer and also the vocalist in a Tupac Shakur tribute
track. Rashida and Kidada's brother Quincy Jones III produced the track, while
their father, Quincy Jones, made an appearance while reciting the words from
Shakur's poem "Starry Night" in the intro. The poem was the inspiration
behind the title of the song. Rashida is African-American and has little
English, Scottish, or Welsh family ancestry than his mother (some of his
African family members are of the Tikar tribe of Cameroon). Her mother,
Rashida, is Ashkenazi Jewish (of Russian Jewish and Latvian Jewish descent).
Her paternal grandparents are of South Carolina and Mississippi, respectively.
Her maternal grandfather was from New York and her maternal grandmother, who is
of Eastern European Jewish descent, was born in Dublin, Ireland. She has been
playing three characters named "Karen" since 2009 on the cult
television comedy series Freaks and Geeks (1999), Stella (2006), and The Office
(2005).
