Pollyanna McIntosh

Pollyanna McIntosh was born in Portugal and Colombia However, she later returned to Scotland when she began her career on the stage at The Edinburgh Festival. At 16 she moved to London where she began to get involved in independent filmmaking. (Her first gig as a paid actor in The Acid House was as an actor with Irvine Welsh (1998)). She's also been involved in theatre, both as an actress as well as a director. A move to Los Angeles in 2004 brought to the stage more shows and productions, including "The Woolgatherer" where she was the director Anne Dudek (a regular on Mad Men (2007)/Big Love (2006)) and David Dayan Fisher (a regular on 24 (2001)/NCIS (2003)) to high praise. In Headspace (2005) in which she landed her first US movie part as "Stacy" an manipulative, born-again Christian. The role was later recast in the role of "Thumper Wint", a unorthodox, born-again, Christian in Sex and Death 101 (2006) (Simon Baker/Winona Rider) and directed by Heathers (1988). The critics were amazed by her unique mix of powerful sexuality and irreverent humor. She was a part of both LA and London, Exam (2009) was her next project, nominated by BAFTA for Outstanding British Debut and winner of Best Independent at the Santa Barbara Film Fest, the film's critics said that Pollyanna's character was "smart, sassy and sexy in equal parts ....the emotional center of the movie" The film's critics praised her ability to uncover the "emotional vulnerability" of her seemingly strong and confident character. GQ simply said "stunning Pollyanna McIntosh is an extremely talented actress". Como Quien No Quiere La Cosa (2013) (As if you Don't Like it! ) is an South American comedy in which she is the unhappy wife of Trevor Lock, a Brit comedian. Filmed in Peru, she speaks Spanish throughout. John Landis directs Burke and Hare (2010). She is Isla Fisher's bestie , along with Andy Serkis and Jessica Hynes and Tom Wilkinson. Her intense performance as the lead character in Lucky McKee's The Woman (2011) made headlines at Sundance 2011. The film received praise from the audience and was voted top of the New York Times readers' most viewed films poll. She was awarded three Best Actress nominations, including Total Film’s Frightfest Award as well as Fright Meter’s.
