Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a former chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive spikey blonde hair and bubbly personality, reveals simple techniques to master and reduces intimidation of restaurants dishes in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. Additionally, she has explored Italy's cuisine and its culture and the surrounding landscape. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and eating in her early years. Following her graduation with an English and Communications degree in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the restaurant business by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America. She states "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I loved every minute of it." The Culinary Institute of America was a great location to learn. After graduating Chef Burrell was in Italy for a whole year taking classes at classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Additionally, she worked at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate Italian philosophy and culture, which has had an impact on her own perception of food. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in the lives of children who face problems. She is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador which promotes education about juvenile diabetes. As a speaker, Burrell is on the road to talk about her love of cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne was always grateful that she had the opportunity to share her love of her life, cooking with others.
